For many families, the holiday season doesn't truly get underway until the tree is decorated and the lights are turned on. Join other families in welcoming the holiday season to Colorado on November 27th with Beaver Creek's 35th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. The fun begins at 4 p.m. with activities and crafts for the whole family. In celebration of the changing seasons, there will be a range of exciting events, including the chance to exhibit your creative skills with some fun pumpkin carving or testing the limits of your courage in the Haunted Barn. Kids will enjoy the pony rides, the bouncy castles, a haystack maze and a tricky obstacle course. There are even wagon rides across the grounds of this former working ranch that allow for appreciating the beautiful mountain views in the crisp autumn air. 

Fall-themed food choices include fresh apple cider for quenching your thirst, home-baked goods and a haystack candy grab. Seasonal games for every age group will test a variety of skills and add to the fun. Raffle prizes include the opportunity to win a gigantic pumpkin, so those interested should register immediately. Their upcoming events page has more details on the individual Cocktails and Canvas and Cocktails and Clay classes. You can imagine the fun of capturing the love you have for your beloved pet at the Paint Your Pet class on September 16th or sculpting an Aspen vase on October 24th. 

You are guided by an instructor, and all the tools you'll need are included in the course fee. You will be using acrylic paint as the medium, and the stretched-canvas artwork you've created is yours to keep. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase throughout the evening, and the courses run about 2 1/2 hours. 

The clay courses allow you to demonstrate your creativity and construct a unique sculpture. The sculpting tools, clay, and glazes are already covered in the course fee, and when the course is complete you can take home your masterpiece to put on display.
