Celebrate Bavarian-style during the upcoming Oktoberfest in Colorado.
Considered one of the ten best Oktoberfest celebrations in the country by USA Today, the Vail Oktoberfest transforms the gorgeous mountain city of Vail, Colorado, for two full weekends in September 2015. Yodeling, alpenhorn blowing and Bavarian dancing help create the Bavarian atmosphere in the Rockies. Make plans for you and your family to join the festivities when Germany comes to Colorado!
Beginning in Lionshead the weekend of September 11 through September 13, 2015, and then moving to Vail Village for the weekend of September 18th through the 20th, this fan-favorite Vail Valley festival includes live music, dancing, costume contests, lifting competitions and more. Many well-loved events from previous years return, offering you the chance to participate in competitions like bratwurst eating contests and a stein lifting competition. One of the most popular events is keg bowling, where you try to push an empty beer keg down a lane toward a pyramid of six empty kegs, competing for a chance to advance to the final round and win a handsome prize. Oktoberfest may be famous for beer and carousing, and there will definitely be plenty to eat and drink at this German-themed party. This festival includes family-friendly activities in the Family Zone, where you and your family will find arts, crafts, balloon animals and entertainers just for kids.
Official Oktoberfest steins and tokens are being offered as prizes for various events throughout the two weekends, so make sure you dust off your lederhosen and head out to this celebration of beer, music and the coming autumn.
The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera is excited to see this seasonal favorite return to Vail. Come by to enjoy one of our heated indoor or outdoor pools, or you can work off some of those bratwurst at our fitness center.
