It’s Almost Time for the Beaver Creek Rodeo

Get out the cowboy boots, gather the family and get ready for this year’s Beaver Creek Rodeo. The rodeo will take place every Thursday from June 23 – August 11 in Avon, at the Beaver Creek Rodeo Grounds. The family-friendly event offers activities for everyone, from bull rides and face painting to delicious food and loads of entertainment.

The 2016 Rodeo will feature many of the events you have come to enjoy as well as some audience participation events that are sure to draw a crowd!

Calf Scramble
Calling all kids between the ages of 5 - 12! You'll want to be part of this rodeo event that has you chasing down some calves to pull a ribbon on the calves' tail to win a price.

Mutton Bustin’
The younger cowboys and cowgirls will have an opportunity to try their luck at holding on to sheep during this event. A prize will be awarded to the participant that holds their sheep down the longest.

Team Roping
Your speed and skills are necessary during this event! The cowboys that catch a steer the fastest will earn points.

Barrel Racing
The key to winning this event is timing and speed. You don't want to miss this competition features rider and horse sprinting into the arena to make their way around a cloverleaf pattern of barrels. This tight turning event is sure to have you sitting on the edge of your seat.

Burro Racing
This rodeo event is open to anyone 18 and over. You'll test your donkey riding and handling skills as a team to grab, ride, pull and push your donkey from one end of the arena to the other, around a barrel and back to where you started.

It's almost time for this year’s Summer Solstice Trail Run. The race will take place on June 18 at Creekside Park.

If you enjoy the outdoors and the mountains of Colorado, you don't want to miss the La Sportiva Vail Mountain Trail Running Race Series. The 2016 Summer Solstice Trail Run has become a favorite event in the area and this year's trail run will start and end in Beaver Creek at Creekside Park. This is one of the most fun family-friendly races and features something for all ages to look forward to. After the race there will be live entertainment and food from one of the local restaurants, so stick around and enjoy the atmosphere.
